Leak : Desperate SNSC vs. Realistic Greater Tehran Police.
(As reported to me by an insider. Italics indicate clarifications I asked for.)
SNSC urgent communique to Greater Tehran police force command. SNSC asks to work out a plan for Police to take over control, while IRGC/Basij forces leave town as of tonight.Their responsibility would be containment of mass gatherings to avoid mass protests tipping to revolt.
Tehran Police central command informed SNSC this morning that without visible presence of IRGC & Basij personnel, Tehrani officers will not only NOT be able to contain masses but :
- in best case scenario, Tehrani officers would disobey, ignore ordrs and stay idle (as in past few days)
- more likely scenario Tehrani officers would directly or indirectly support protesting masses.
In reaction to latest assessments of Expediency council (as reported yesterday, Expediency actually proposed to return coup forces to bases & allow army & police to takeover) AN&SL, as usual,want to be “smart” & want to post coup forces to protect Government & regime vital organs, and contain Artesh. In other words, they distrust NSP & Army. SNSC has been consulting with all branches of security & armed forces. They are concentrating remaining loyal forces around strategic Government buildings, Majlis, Artesh Garrisons, Evin Prison, IRIB, Mehrabad Airport (Artesh Air Force).
The remaining “reliable” coup loyal force of around 3000 combat-ready people are barely enough for this task. This new strategy leaves them no choice but to withdraw them from suppression force.
